Cscape Dance Company formed in 2003 and burst into the contemporary dance world with a blend of imaginative theatre, energetic choreography and a smidgen of the absurd. No village hall is too small, no theatre too large, no seashore too wet, no garden too dry; we will happily don waders and dance in the mud. We tour to theatres, festivals, village halls and schools regionally and nationally and are passionate about taking dance theatre to the far corners of the land. We create dance for the outside, inside, above ground and below ground. We also educate all ages from 2 to 82 and encourage people to immerse themselves in dance and performance.
Sometimes it is just a small collective of performers, dancing a story until we find the end. Sometimes we create dances for 100 people to join us. Sometimes we are joined by other choreographers and directors who take us on a voyage we could not have navigated alone. With TC Howard we crawled down a mine, and Emma Rice took us back in time and with collaborator and writer Anna Maria Murphy we travelled the globe in search of exotic plants. Whatever our project, we attack it with passion and creativity and hope to be more brave and bold than the project before.
