Dancer & Performer
Polly Motley grew up in Oxfordshire and moved to Cornwall in 2005. Polly trained at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds, graduating with a BA in Performing Arts.
She then went on to perform with the graduate company 4D at The Place, LCDS, where she performed choreography by Henri Oguilke, Sue Mackainnan, Frank Handelar, Susan Elshout and Ian Spink, touring the UK, Germany and the Netherlands.
Upon graduating Polly travelled extensively throughout Southeast Asia, India, Australia and Africa, and then worked with Bizerk Dance Company in Oxford for three years.
With Bizerk Polly toured throughout the UK performing work by Nickey Burke. Polly performed at the Stockholm Dans Theater Festival performing work by Anja Ison-Wallae, and has also played Cinderella in the Harrods pantomime in 2005.
Polly has a keen interest in the connection between dance as a healing art form and she takes these principles through into her teaching and community work. She has taught many independent classes for all ages, most recently at Truro College.
Her debut appearance with Cscape was in the southwest regional tour of Guilty Fingers in 2006/7, and she has since worked with the company on Below, Don John and Enjoy Your Stay.
Polly is currently working on projects with choreographer Angela Praed, a collaboration between Jacky Lansley and Tim Brinkman at The Hall for Cornwall and is also working with Fin Walker at the Royal Opera House in Aida
