Landings

Trebah Gardens - June 2005

Soldiers lost in the gunera, partings lovers and land girls on the beach, Landings explored local connections and emotions to the D-Day Landings in 1944. The evening performance saw a company of sixteen professional dancers present a promenade performance that lead the audience weaving down through the landscaped gardens to the sea. Stunning film and visual installations took place along the journey to provoke thought and remembrance and the spectacular finale took place on the embarcation point where the soldiers left the idyllic settings of Trebah and set sail for the D-Day assault.

The company’s dancers also choreographed, performed and led education work in over 15 local schools.

Choreography: Helen Tiplady
